Spent a great evening down the road at a Dick Gaughan gig. He managed to fit a dozen or so folk songs between political and humourous anecdotes and I appreciated just how excellent a guitar player he is as well as songwriter and singer.
As if that weren’t enough he also happens to be well versed in web design. His site dickalba.demon.co.uk values standards compliance and provides heaps of content including lyrics and music for many of his own and other peoples songs.
The gig was in the Pacific Road Arts Centre , which basically seems to be a converted warehouse or other industrial building. It’s a good atmosphere with seating at tables and good acoustics. Picked up their programme and note that Shane and the Popes are due to make an appearance in the new year.
