Magna Carta died in vain

Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?
Tony Hancock

The Labour party has staked its claim in the race to become the most right-wing party at the coming election. They’ll pass the UKIP european waffle, see the Tories with their tough-on-immigration stance and raise them house arrest without charge or trial. That’s right, under their latest plans, anyone in the UK can be held without trial on the say so of our home office. OK it’ll save UK Amnesty members on airmail postage – but the arrogance the government display makes me sure they’ll file letters in the bag labelled recycling.

One can’t help wondering if someone in the Labour party, after a decade studying the third way started to read an alternative health book and conflated the two. Recent policy certainly has a touch of the homeopathic to it. Fuel prices up again, invading the Middle East might help. Big problem with binge drinking – I know let’s open pubs 24 hours. Now they announce this scheme to curtail freedom under the ridiculous pretence that it is to preserve liberty.

On the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz as well. Someone at the home office needs to go over their ‘Jo Moore News Management 101’ course notes.
